**Dubai, UAE | Full-time** **Job Title:** **Accountant** (Healthcare / Medical Consumables & Service Costing) ELEMENTAL DAY SURGICAL CENTER is urgently looking for a detail-driven **Accountant** to own inventory accounting and stock control for medical supplies and consumables. This role is critical to ensuring accurate stock valuation, disciplined month-end closing, and reliable reporting that supports **service costing (costing sheets)** and margin visibility. **Key Responsibilities** **Inventory Accounting (medical / consumables focus)** * Record inventory purchases (medical supplies, consumables, materials) * Correctly classify transactions: * Inventory vs. expense * Consumables vs. capital items * Maintain inventory movement records linked to **services (usage)**, not resale * Manage stock valuation and documentation, including: * FIFO / weighted average costing * inventory write-offs * expired / damaged stock handling * stock valuation and controls **Stock Reconciliation (system vs actual)** * Reconcile physical stock counts vs system balances * Investigate discrepancies (usage variance, wastage, expiry, theft, data errors) * Prepare and post stock adjustments / write-off entries * Work with data provided by clinic staff (doctors, nurses, storekeeper) and ensure completeness/accuracy * Ensure inventory is adjusted based on actual usage and write-offs are properly recorded **Service Costing (Costing Sheets / Calculation Cards)** * Prepare **costing sheets (calculation cards)** for medical services, linking consumables and materials usage to service cost * Understand how incorrect stock accounting distorts margins and management reporting * Support management with cost transparency for decision-making (without necessarily setting prices) **UAE VAT Basics for Clinics** * Apply correct VAT posting on inventory purchases (medical supplies) * Basic awareness of **zero-rated vs taxable** medical services * Avoid common VAT mistakes (not required to be a tax advisor) **Systems, Month-End & Reporting** * Use accounting software with inventory module (not expenses-only usage) * Perform monthly stock closing, cut-off procedures, and prepare inventory reports for management * Support audit requirements (stock schedules, documentation, stock count observations) — preferred **Required Skills & Experience** * Hands-on experience with at least one accounting system: **QuickBooks / Xero / Zoho Books / Odoo / similar** * **Practical experience with an inventory module** (purchases, movements, valuation, adjustments—not only expenses) * Strong understanding of: * FIFO / weighted average * inventory write-offs and adjustments * expired/damaged stock procedures * stock valuation principles * **Ability to create costing sheets / calculation cards for medical services**, based on actual consumables usage * Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, reconciliation models) is a plus **Strong Advantage (Highly Recommended)** * Experience in **healthcare / clinics / pharmacies / labs / hospitals** * **Familiarity with expiry dates, batch control, controlled items,** clinical wastage and usage-driven consumption * Audit support experience (stock schedules, supporting auditor requests, stock count observations) **Soft Skills (Very Important)** * Ability to work with non-finance staff: * communicate with doctors / nurses / admin calmly and clearly * explain stock differences professionally * request the right data (usage reports, counts) and follow up **What We Value** * Accuracy, ownership, and month-end discipline * Ability to bridge finance + operations in a clinical environment * Practical problem-solving and clear communication **What We Offer** * Salary upto 8-9K * Health Insurance * Yearly Annual Leave & Airfare * All other benifits as per UAE labour law Email Resume on **[email protected]** with subject as **"Accountant".** Job Type: Full-time Application Question(s): * what is your nationality ?
