Civil Engineer

**Job Description: Civil Engineer – SOBH Group (For Municipality Approval / Tender Submission)** The Civil Engineer is responsible for the **planning, supervision, execution, and quality control of all civil works** related to building maintenance, refurbishment, and fit-out projects within SOBH Group and external projects. The role ensures that all activities are carried out in full compliance with **-Municipality regulations, project specifications, and HSE standards of relevant authority guidelines.** **Scope of Work** * Building maintenance and repair works * Refurbishment and modification projects * Fit-out and interior works * Structural and non-structural civil works * Coordination with MEP and FM teams towards MIMO (Move IN and Move Out reporting & execution) **Key Responsibilities** **1. Project Execution & Supervision** * Supervise all civil works at site ensuring compliance with **approved drawings, BOQs, and specifications**. * Monitor daily site activities and ensure adherence to project timelines. * Coordinate with consultants, contractors, customers, authorities and internal departments for smooth execution. **2. Compliance & Authority Requirements** * Ensure all works comply with: * Municipality regulations (Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman) * UAE building codes and standards * Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) requirements * Assist in obtaining necessary **approvals, permits, and inspections** from relevant authorities. * Ensure all documentation required for authority submission is complete and accurate. **3. Quality Assurance & Control** * Conduct inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with specifications and best industry standards * Identify defects and implement corrective actions. * Ensure proper material usage as per approved standards. **4. Maintenance & Defect Management** * Identify civil maintenance requirements through periodical inspections in CAFM. * Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance works in CAFM * Ensure timely rectification of defects and reported issues in CAFM **5. Contractor & Vendor Management** * Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with project scope and quality standards. * Evaluate contractor performance and ensure timely completion of works. * Coordinate with procurement for material and service requirements. **6. Material & Resource Management** * Estimate material quantities and ensure availability on site and maintain adequate stock at local store to attend and close tickets raised in CAFM. * Monitor material usage and minimize wastage. * Ensure proper allocation of manpower, monitor and efficiently optimize and equipment as required. **7. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)** * Ensure all site activities are carried out in compliance with local authority safety regulations. * Conduct site safety checks and enforce safe working practices as per best Industry standards * Report hazards and implement corrective actions. **8. Reporting & Documentation** * Prepare and submit: * Daily site reports * Weekly progress reports * Inspection and quality reports * Monthly report submission. * Maintain proper records for: * Drawings and approvals * Work completion * Material usage **Qualifications & Requirements** * Bachelor’s Degree in **Civil Engineering** * Minimum **5+ years of experience** in UAE (maintenance, fit-out, or construction) * Strong knowledge of: * UAE building regulations and codes * Authority approval procedures (Municipality, Civil Défense, etc.) * Fit-out and refurbishment works **Key Competencies** * Site supervision and execution * Knowledge of authority requirements and approvals * Quality control and inspection * Coordination and communication * Problem-solving and decision-making **Reporting Line** * Reports to: **Facilities Manager / Project Manager** * Coordinates with: **MEP Engineers, Consultants, Contractors, Authorities** Work Location: In person
