**Position Title: Civil Technical Office Engineer** **Department: Technical Office / Projects** **Reports To: Technical Manager / Head of Technical** **Job Purpose** The Civil Technical Office Engineer is responsible for managing all civil engineering technical submissions and coordination from the technical office, including shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical clarifications, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, specifications, and approved designs. **Key Responsibilities** **Technical Submissions** * Prepare, review, and coordinate **civil shop drawings**, method statements, and material submittals. * Ensure all technical submissions comply with contract documents, specifications, and applicable standards. * Coordinate responses to consultant comments and ensure timely resubmission and approvals. * Maintain updated technical submission logs and approval status. **Coordination & Technical Support** * Coordinate with site teams to provide approved drawings and technical information required for execution. * Coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to resolve design and execution conflicts. * Review IFC drawings and identify discrepancies, clashes, or missing details. * Issue technical clarifications and RFIs when required. **Quantity Take-Off & Variations** * Support quantity take-offs and review BOQs related to civil work. * Assist in evaluating technical aspects of variations, changing orders, and claims. * Provide technical input for cost estimation and planning activities. **Documentation & Compliance** * Ensure proper document control and version management in coordination with the document control team. * Maintain updated records of approved drawings, specifications, and technical correspondence. * Ensure compliance with local authority requirements and project standards. **Qualifications & Experience** * Bachelor’s degree in **civil engineering**. * Minimum **5–8 years**’ experience in a **Technical Office role** within construction projects. * Strong experience in shop drawings, technical submissions, and consultant coordination. * GCC / Qatar experience is preferred. **Software & Technical Skills** * Proficiency in **AutoCAD**. * Knowledge of construction details, specifications, and standards. * Experience with **quantity take-offs** and BOQs. * Familiarity with FIDIC contracts is an advantage. **Skills & Competencies** * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent coordination and follow-up abilities. * Ability to handle multiple submissions and deadlines. * Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage). **Preferred Attributes** * Experience in multi-project environments. * Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. * Proactive and well-organized.
