Cost Control Engineer

***Job Summary*** As a Site Cost Controller, you will act as the key link between the finance department and the site engineering team. Your primary objective is to monitor project costs, track expenditure, and provide accurate financial insights to ensure the project remains within the approved budget and timeline. ***Key Responsibilities*** * **Budget Monitoring:** Track and compare actual site costs against the budget (Budget vs. Actual) on a daily and weekly basis. * **Quantity & Material Control:** Verify materials delivered to the site against actual usage and match them with the Bill of Quantities (BOQ). * **Subcontractor Management:** Review and certify subcontractor payment applications based on verified site progress. * **Operational Cost Efficiency:** Monitor costs related to labor, machinery, and material consumption to minimize waste. * **Reporting:** Prepare accurate, timely reports for the Project Manager and Head Office regarding financial variances and suggest corrective measures. * **Change Management:** Document and track all site change orders and evaluate their financial impact on the project budget. ***Qualifications*** * **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Civil Engineering/Construction Management. * **Experience:** Proven track record in a similar role within the construction sector (field experience is highly preferred). * **Technical Skills:** Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and project management software is highly desirable. * **Communication:** Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, contractors, and suppliers. * **Adaptability:** Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced construction site environment.
