**JOB TITLE: Cyber Engineering Specialist** LOCATION: Qatar / Remote | TYPE: Contract / Full-time | LEVELS: 3–5 yrs / 5–10 yrs / 10–20 yrs **ABOUT THE ROLE** We are recruiting a Cyber Engineering Specialist to be responsible for the architecture, deployment, integration, and optimization of security technologies supporting a government client in Qatar. You will serve as the technical owner and integrator for core security platforms , providing engineering and automation expertise to enable scalable and reliable security operations. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** - Design and implement security architectures and solutions (SIEM, SOAR, EDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management) aligned with client requirements. - Onboard and maintain log and telemetry sources (network, endpoints, applications, identity) into SIEM and related platforms. - Develop and maintain detection use cases, correlation rules, and automated playbooks in collaboration with SOC and CTI teams. - Integrate security tools with ticketing, asset management, identity, and infrastructure platforms to streamline operations. - Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and high-availability configuration of security systems for 24x7 operations. - Establish and document standard build configurations, deployment patterns, and hardening baselines for security platforms. - Troubleshoot complex security infrastructure issues and coordinate with vendors and internal teams for resolution. - Produce and maintain technical documentation and as built designs. **REQUIRED EXPERIENCE** - 3–20 years of experience in security engineering, security architecture, or security operations technology. - Hands on experience deploying and administering SIEM platforms (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar, or equivalent). - Experience with SOAR platforms, playbook development, and security automation. - Strong knowledge of network security: firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxies, and network segmentation. - Scripting and automation skills: Python, PowerShell, or Go for security tool integration and playbook development. - Experience with EDR platforms (CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, SentinelOne, or equivalent). - Familiarity with cloud security engineering (Azure, AWS) is a strong advantage. - Experience in government or critical infrastructure environments preferred. **PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS** Candidates holding two or more of the following certifications will be viewed very favourably: - CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) - strongly preferred for senior-level candidates - CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional) - valued for secure development integration - CompTIA Security+ - good baseline for mid and junior-level engineering candidates - CISM - valued for senior engineers bridging technical and governance responsibilities Note: Python or Go secure development experience is highly valued in addition to formal certifications. **WHAT WE OFFER** - Engagement supporting a high-profile government client in Qatar. - Multiple experience levels considered: junior (3–5 yrs), mid (5–10 yrs), and senior (10–20 yrs). - Competitive contract rate aligned with experience level. - Opportunity to work on national-scale security engineering programmes.
