Estimation Engineer

**Job Summary:** The Mechanical Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for metal fabrication and structural projects. This includes analyzing drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine material, labor, and production costs, ensuring competitive and profitable bids. **Key Responsibilities:** * Review technical drawings, specifications, and BOQs for metal works (steel structures, fabrication, machining, etc.) * Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labor, machining, finishing, and subcontracting * Perform quantity take-offs from drawings and client documents * Source quotations from suppliers and subcontractors and evaluate pricing * Analyze project scope and identify cost-saving opportunities * Prepare and submit commercial and technical proposals within deadlines * Coordinate with engineering, production, and procurement teams for accurate costing * Evaluate tender documents, contract conditions, and project risks * Maintain a database of historical costs, suppliers, and pricing trends * Assist in value engineering and alternative material/method proposals * Follow up on submitted quotations and support negotiation processes **Requirements:** * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field * 2–3 years of experience in estimation within metal works / fabrication / steel industry * Strong knowledge of fabrication processes (cutting, welding, machining, surface finishing) * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications * Experience in cost estimation software and MS Excel * Familiarity with UAE market rates and suppliers (preferred) * Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills **Preferred Skills:** * Knowledge of ERP systems * Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting tools * Understanding of project management and contract terms **Key Competencies:** * Attention to detail * Time management and deadline-driven * Commercial awareness * Problem-solving mindset Job Type: Permanent Pay: From AED3,500.00 per month Work Location: In person
