Finance Manager

**Job Title:** Finance Manager **Location:** Al Quoz, Dubai, UAE **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Industry:** Contracting / Construction **Job Summary** We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Finance Manager with a strong background in contracting and construction companies to lead and oversee the financial operations of the organization. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in project-based accounting, cost control, financial planning, and cash flow management within a project-driven environment. This role requires a strategic thinker who can provide financial insights, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance operational efficiency across multiple ongoing projects. **Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & Reporting** * Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. * Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and UAE financial regulations. * Manage general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll functions. * Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets. **Project Accounting & Cost Control** * Manage project accounting including budgeting, cost allocation, and revenue recognition. * Monitor job costing, project profitability, and margin analysis across projects. * Track and report Work-in-Progress (WIP) and ensure accurate financial representation. * Oversee progress billing, variations, and retention accounting. * Work closely with project and operations teams to control costs and improve financial performance. **Budgeting & Financial Planning** * Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting. * Develop financial models for strategic planning and project feasibility. * Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to senior management. **Cash Flow & Working Capital Management** * Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for project execution. * Optimize working capital, including receivables, payables, and inventory. * Coordinate with clients and internal teams to ensure timely collections. **Compliance & Audit** * Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities. * Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and statutory requirements. * Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audits. **LC (Letter of Credit) & Banking** * Manage and monitor **Letters of Credit (LCs)**, bank guarantees, and trade finance instruments. * Coordinate with banks for LC issuance, amendments, and documentation. * Ensure compliance with contractual and banking requirements related to project financing. **Leadership & Team Management** * Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team. * Set KPIs and drive accountability across the department. * Promote a culture of continuous improvement and high performance. **Requirements** * Chartered Accountant (CA) or Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance. * 15–20 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting. * Minimum 5 years in a Finance Manager or Finance Controller role. * **Mandatory experience in contracting, construction, façade, aluminum, or related industries.** * Strong expertise in: * Project accounting * Job costing & WIP accounting * Revenue recognition * Progress billing, variations, and retention * Experience handling **Letters of Credit (LCs), bank guarantees, and project-based financing**. * Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar). * Strong knowledge of IFRS and UAE VAT regulations. * Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. * Strong leadership and communication skills. * Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. * Fluency in English is required.
