**Job Description:** The Finishing Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for inspecting, verifying, and controlling the quality of architectural and finishing works following completion of structural and civil construction. The role focuses on workmanship, aesthetics, material application, interfaces, tolerances, and final presentation quality across all finishing trades prior to area acceptance, handover, or occupation. This position is activated once the project transitions into the finishing phase and plays a critical role in ensuring that all visible and user-facing elements of the project meet approved drawings, specifications, mock-ups, samples, and agreed quality benchmarks. **Key Responsibilities** ***1. Inspection Planning & Request Handling*** · Receive and review Requests for Inspection (RFI / WIR – Work Inspection Requests) submitted by the Construction Department for finishing works. · Verify inspection readiness prior to attending inspections, including: 1. Completion status of works 2. Approved drawings and latest revisions 3. Approved materials, samples, and mock-ups 4. Availability of inspection checklists and ITP references · Reject or reschedule inspection requests where works are incomplete, inaccessible, non-compliant, or insufficiently prepared, issuing formal remarks where required. · Plan and sequence inspections by area, trade, and work package, aligned with project inspection and test plans (ITPs). ***2. Inspection of Finishing Works*** * Inspect completed and ongoing finishing works to verify compliance with approved architectural drawings, specifications, and method statements. * Conduct detailed inspections of finishes including (but not limited to): 1. Plaster and skim coats 2. Painting systems 3. Gypsum ceilings 4. Floor and wall tiling 5. Stone and cladding works 6. Joinery, wardrobes, kitchens, and vanities 7. Sanitary fittings and accessories 8. Aluminum doors, windows, frames, and glazing · Verify dimensions, alignment, levels, flatness, edge detailing, joints, transitions, and overall workmanship quality. · Check interfaces betweenfinishes and MEP elements, ensuring alignment, coordination, and acceptable visual outcome. * Ensure finishing works are completed to the required standard prior to snagging, handover, or occupation. ***3. Inspection Reporting & Documentation*** · Prepare and issue formal Inspection Reports following each inspection, clearly recording: 1. Inspection scope and reference documents 2. Observations and compliance status 3. Identified defects or deviations 4. Required corrective actions · Maintain structured inspection checklists for each finishing trade and work package. · Record comprehensive photographic evidence for: 1. Non-conforming works 2. Corrective actions 3. Final acceptance conditions · Maintain accurate inspection logs and traceability records aligned with project QMS requirements. ***4. Non-Conformance Management (NCR Process)*** · Identify and formally raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for finishing works that do not comply with approved requirements. · Classify non-conformances based on severity and impact (minor, major, repeat, or systemic). · Coordinate with construction teams to define corrective and preventive actions. · Track NCR status, deadlines, and responses until full closure. · Re-inspect rectified works and formally verify compliance prior to NCR closure. ***5. Escalation & Quality Control Authority*** · Escalate unresolved or repeated quality issues to the Technical Manager in accordance with project escalation protocols. · Flag high-risk workmanship issues that may impact: 1. Aesthetic quality 2. Durability 3. Handover acceptance 4. Claims, rework, or delays · Recommend work suspension, additional mock-ups, or corrective sequencing where quality risks persist. · Support audits and investigations related to finishing quality failures or disputes. ***6. Snagging, De-Snagging & Handover Support*** · Participate in systematic snagging inspections and preparation of snag lists. · Verify completion and quality of de-snagging works prior to area acceptance. · Support preparation of finishing-related handover documentation, including: 1. Inspection records 2. NCR logs and closure evidence 3. Approved material and sample records · Assist during consultant, client, and authority walkthroughs for finishing works. ***7. Coordination & Site Interface*** · Coordinate closely with: 1. Site engineers 2. Finishing supervisors 3. Subcontractors 4. Design and technical teams · Communicate inspection findings clearly, technically, and formally. · Ensure finished works are adequately protected from damage by subsequent activities. · Promote quality awareness and finishing discipline during high-pressure close-out stages. ***8. Health, Safety & Site Compliance*** · Conduct inspections in full compliance with site HSE procedures. · Identify and report unsafe practice
