Job Title: **Finishing/Fit out Site Engineer** **– Painting, Wallpaper & Joinery** Employment Type: Full-time Reporting to: Construction / Project Manager About the Role We are seeking a skilled Finishing Site Engineer with strong hands-on experience in paint coatings, luxury wallpaper installation, and high-quality joinery/woodwork finishing for a prestigious high-rise hotel project in Dubai. As part of the main contractor’s site team, you will oversee day-to-day finishing works, ensuring quality, progress, and compliance with project specifications and hotel brand standards. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate painting, wallpapering, and joinery/fine carpentry works on site, including subcontractors and direct labour. Inspect substrate conditions, material approvals, and workmanship to ensure compliance with approved shop drawings, method statements, and material data sheets. Manage defect-free finishing – control over pinholes, touch-ups, wall flatness, joint sealing, wallpaper alignment, and joinery grain/veneer matching. Conduct regular site inspections, to help QAQC find quality defects and support QAQC to raise non-conformance reports (NCRs), and drive corrective actions. Coordinate with MEP, drywall, and other trades to avoid rework and clashes in high-end guestroom and public area finishes. Monitor material consumption, wastage, and storage – especially for wallpapers, lacquers, and pre-finished joinery panels. Prepare daily/weekly progress reports, maintain snag lists, and lead finishing punch-list clearance. Ensure strict adherence to hotel quality standards, fire codes, and UAE/DM/DCD regulations. **Qualifications & Experience** **Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Architecture / Interior Design or equivalent.** **Minimum 5–8 years of GCC/Middle East experience in high-rise hotel or luxury residential finishing.** **Proven track record with three key trades:** **– Paint: water-based, epoxy, texture, high-gloss, and anti-fungal coatings.** **– Wallpaper: commercial-grade, fabric-backed, custom digital print, and seam concealment techniques.** **– Joinery (fine woodwork): solid wood, veneer, MDF/lacquered finishes, wooden panelling, wardrobe/cabinetry installation.** Ability to read and interpret interior finishing drawings, joinery shop drawings, and material schedules. **Strong snagging, de-snagging, and site quality management skills**. Good communication in English (written & spoken) – ability to coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and hotel operator’s QA team.
