General Accountant

**Accountant** **Job Title: Accountant** **Experience: 5-10 years in UAE** **Job Location: Abu Dhabi** **Job Type: Full-time** Candidates who are available to start **immediately** are preferred. We are looking for a General Accountant who can manage the financial operations of our Company (Engineering consultancy), ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with local regulations, and effective financial management. The role involves handling accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, VAT filing, and supporting the Management with budgeting and financial analysis**.** * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. * Conduct variance analysis to support management in decision-making. * Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. * Process invoices and ensure timely payments. * Reconcile accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts. * Process payment to the vendors/suppliers. * Maintain accurate records of transactions in compliance with company policies. * Post journal entries and maintain the general ledger. * Perform monthly bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations. * Ensure accurate and timely closing of accounts. * Process employee payroll and ensure compliance with UAE labor laws and of KSA. * Handle payroll deductions, end-of-service benefits, and gratuities. * Prepare and file VAT returns in accordance with UAE regulations. * Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations. * Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls and accounting procedures. * Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation. * Provide financial insights and support to the Finance Manager and other departments. * Engage in cash flow management and monitor financial performance of the company. **Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * Minimum 5-10 years of accounting experience, preferably in the engineering or consultancy / construction sector. * Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and UAE VAT laws. * Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally) and MS Excel a must.
