Interior Designer/Estimator

**Job Summary:** The Joinery Interior Designer cum Estimator is responsible for preparing creative and functional joinery design solutions while accurately estimating project costs for interior fit-out works. This role combines design expertise with strong commercial awareness, ensuring that proposed designs are both aesthetically appealing and cost-effective. The candidate will work closely with clients, project managers, and production teams to deliver high-quality joinery solutions within budget and timelines. **Key Responsibilities:** * Develop interior design concepts, detailed drawings, and shop drawings for joinery works (e.g., doors, wardrobes, kitchens, wall paneling, counters). * Prepare 2D and 3D designs, presentations, and material boards as per client requirements. * Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate BOQs and cost estimates. * Analyze project requirements and identify suitable materials, finishes, and construction methods. * Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and pricing. * Prepare detailed cost breakdowns including materials, labor, machinery, and installation. * Value engineer designs to achieve cost optimization without compromising quality and functionality. * Liaise with clients, consultants, and project teams for design approvals and clarifications. * Support project managers during execution with design clarifications and revisions. * Ensure all designs comply with project specifications, local regulations, and industry standards in the UAE. * Assist in preparing technical submittals, material submissions, and method statements. * Track variations and update project costs accordingly. **Qualifications & Requirements:** * Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field. * 2–5 years of experience in joinery and interior fit-out works in the UAE. * Strong knowledge of joinery detailing, materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes. * Proficiency in design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Sketch Up, 3ds Max, or similar. * Experience in estimation and costing for joinery and fit-out projects. * Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings. * Familiarity with UAE market rates, suppliers, and material specifications. * Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication and presentation skills. * Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines. **Key Skills:** * Interior Design & Space Planning * Joinery Detailing * Quantity Take-off & BOQ Preparation * Cost Estimation & Budgeting * Value Engineering * Material Selection * Technical Coordination * Client Interaction Work Location: In person
