Lead Façade Designer

**Job Title: Lead Façade Design Engineer – Aluminum Systems** **Location:** United Arab Emirates (UAE) **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Department:** Engineering / Design **Position Overview** We are seeking a highly experienced **Lead Façade Design Engineer – Aluminum Systems** to manage façade design activities for high-rise, commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects across the UAE. The role involves leading the design team, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations and international standards, and delivering technically sound and cost-effective façade solutions within project timelines. **Key Responsibilities** * Lead façade design development from concept stage through IFC and shop drawings. * Supervise and mentor façade designers, engineers, and BIM modelers. * Review and approve system designs, structural calculations, material submittals, and shop drawings. * Ensure compliance with UAE Building Codes, local authority regulations (Dubai Municipality, DDA, Trakhees, Abu Dhabi DMT, etc.), and international standards. * Provide technical expertise on curtain wall systems, unitized façades, stick systems, cladding, skylights, glazing, louvers, and aluminum architectural systems. * Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams to align design intent with constructability. * Lead value engineering initiatives and optimize façade performance (structural, thermal, waterproofing). * Manage design schedules, workload distribution, and timely submission of design packages. * Support procurement, fabrication, and site installation teams during execution. **QualificationsEducation** * Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline. **Experience** * 8–12 years of experience in façade and aluminum system design. * Minimum 3–5 years in a leadership role. * Strong experience on UAE-based façade projects (Dubai / Abu Dhabi experience preferred). **Technical Skills** * Strong expertise in curtain wall, unitized systems, aluminum façade systems, and glazing technologies. * Solid understanding of façade engineering principles including structural performance, wind load analysis, thermal movement, air/water tightness, and waterproofing. * Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM mandatory). * Familiarity with ASTM, EN, BS standards and UAE authority requirements. * Knowledge of façade analysis software is an advantage.
