Mechanical & Piping CAD Designer / Drafter

Rawafid is looking for a dedicated Mechanical & Piping CAD Designer / Drafter to join our engineering department. In this role, you will be responsible for producing detailed mechanical and piping CAD drawings to support project design and execution. You will collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to translate design concepts into accurate and comprehensive technical drawings, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Your proficiency in CAD software and knowledge of mechanical and piping systems will be essential in delivering high-quality documentation. Responsibilities * Develop 3D piping models and routing using AVEVA E3D, Bentley Open Plant, or Autodesk Plant 3D * Generate piping isometric drawings directly from 3D models * Prepare equipment layout and arrangement (GA) drawings in coordination with other disciplines * Develop piping plans, sections, and detailed layout drawings * Design pipe support locations and prepare support detail drawings * Extract bill of materials (BOM) and material take-offs from 3D models * Perform clash detection and resolution using Navisworks or equivalent tools * Support P&ID markups and coordination with process engineering updates * Prepare 2D CAD drawings using AutoCAD for details, schematics, and design support * Manage drawing revisions and ensure proper version control throughout the design lifecycle * Ensure compliance with project CAD standards, layer conventions, and drafting guidelines * Manage plot setup, drawing issuance, and document control for engineering deliverables **Requirements** * Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Drafting Technology * 6 years of relevant experience in mechanical/piping CAD design and drafting for industrial projects * 3+ years of relevant experience in desalination, water treatment, or oil & gas projects, with experience in GA drawings, piping isometrics, and equipment layout drawings for seawater piping systems * Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) Certificate is a plus * AutoCAD and Plant 3D certification is preferred * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in producing technical drawings. * Ability to interpret engineering specifications and technical documents. * Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
