MEP Draftsman (Electrical and plumbing )

**Key Responsibilities** 1. **Drafting & Design Support** * Prepare detailed 2D and sometimes 3D drawings for electrical and plumbing systems. * Develop layouts for lighting, power, cable routing, water supply, drainage, and firefighting systems. * Convert conceptual designs into technical shop drawings. 2. **Shop Drawings & As-Built Drawings** * Produce shop drawings based on IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings. * Update drawings based on site conditions and revisions. * Prepare as-built drawings after project completion. 3. **Coordination** * Coordinate MEP drawings with architectural and structural layouts. * Identify clashes between electrical, plumbing, and other services. * Work closely with engineers, site teams, and other disciplines. 4. **Drawing Review & Compliance** * Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, standards, and local authority requirements. * Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and constructability. 5. **Documentation** * Maintain organized records of all drawings and revisions. * Follow proper naming conventions and version control. **Required Skills & Competencies** * Strong knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems. * Proficiency in drafting software such as AutoCAD (essential). * Familiarity with Revit MEP or BIM tools (preferred). * Understanding of construction drawings and symbols. * Good attention to detail and accuracy. * Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple projects. * Basic knowledge of local codes and standards (especially in GCC/UAE is a plus). **Qualifications** * Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Drafting. * 2–5 years of experience as an MEP Draftsman. * Experience in construction or MEP contracting companies preferred. **Work Environment** * Typically office-based with coordination with site engineers. * May involve site visits for verification and updates. * Works closely with design, estimation, and execution teams. **Typical Deliverables** * Electrical layouts (lighting, power, single-line diagrams) * Plumbing layouts (water supply, drainage, firefighting) * Shop drawings * As-built drawings * Coordination drawings (MEP combined services) Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month Work Location: In person
