**Job Description – Planning Engineer (Construction Planner)** **Location:** Dubai Office (Freelance / Part-Time / Project-Based) **Project Types**: 5-Star Hotels, Luxury Office Buildings, Complex Mixed-Use Developments, High-End Villa Compounds, and Standalone Luxury Villas **Role Overview** The Planning Engineer will be responsible for preparing and managing a **fully integrated construction coordination program** covering all project phases—from early design to final handover. The role requires strong experience in **large-scale, high-end, and multi-disciplinary developments,** ensuring all design, procurement, and construction activities are properly sequenced, monitored, and aligned with project objectives. The candidate will work closely with the Dubai office and project management team, supporting multiple project types with varying complexity. **Key Responsibilities** · Develop a **comprehensive baseline program** (Primavera P6 / MS Project) covering: o Concept, schematic, and detailed design o Shop drawings preparation and approvals o Material submittals and authority approvals o Procurement schedules and long-lead items o Manufacturing, logistics, and delivery o Construction works (civil, structural, MEP, architectural) o Internal finishes, external finishes, façade works o Fit-out, joinery, FF&E, OS&E o Testing, commissioning, and handover · Create detailed **WBS**, activity coding, logic links, and critical path analysis. · Coordinate planning inputs across: o Architects, structural and MEP consultants o Interior designers and specialist subcontractors o Façade, elevators, kitchen, laundry, and other specialist packages · Prepare **interface schedules** for complex mixed-use and hotel projects. · Update the program weekly or bi-weekly based on actual progress. · Prepare: o Progress reports o Look-ahead schedules o KPI dashboards o Delay analysis and recovery plans · Identify risks, slippages, and required mitigation actions. · Develop and track procurement schedules for: o MEP equipment o Façade systems o Specialist hotel systems (BMS, AV, security, kitchen equipment) o High-end finishes and joinery · Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery aligned with site needs. · Maintain planning logs, progress records, and approval trackers. · Support claims, variations, and EOT submissions with proper documentation. · Ensure compliance with project specifications, authority requirements, and client expectations. · Work closely with the Dubai office team, project managers, and site teams. · Attend coordination meetings (online or in-person). · Provide clear planning insights to support decision-making and project strategy. **Required Qualifications & Skills** · Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. · **8–12 years’** experience in planning for large-scale construction projects. · Proven experience in: o 5-star hotels o Luxury office buildings o Mixed-use developments o High-end villa compounds · Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project. · Excellent understanding of procurement cycles, authority approvals, and construction sequencing. · Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills. · Ability to work independently as a **freelancer, part-time planner, or project-based resource.** **Preferred Experience** · UAE/GCC project experience. · Experience with high-end finishes, complex MEP systems, and specialist hotel packages. · Ability to prepare recovery schedules and delay analysis reports. · Familiarity with luxury fit-out and FF&E coordination.
