QA Engineer

**Pay:** AED 8,000 – 10,000 per month **Company Overview** We are a sports technology company building Artemis, a platform designed to modernize and unify sports administration and engagement across the UAE. Quality is not a phase in this system - it is a property of how the system operates. **Job Summary** We are looking for a Lead Quality Assurance Engineer to take ownership of QA strategy and execution across the platform. This role operates within a **highly AI-augmented engineering environment**, where testing, validation, and coverage are accelerated through modern tooling and automation. You will define how quality is achieved - not just how it is checked. This includes test strategy, automation, integration into delivery pipelines, and shaping how engineers think about correctness. This is not a ticket-driven QA role. It is a **system-level ownership role** responsible for ensuring that what we build works reliably under real conditions. **Key Responsibilities** **QA Strategy & System Design** * Define and evolve QA strategy, processes, and standards across the platform * Design test approaches that balance speed, coverage, and maintainability * Ensure quality is embedded early in the development lifecycle (not just at release) **AI-Augmented Testing** * Use AI-assisted tools to generate, expand, and maintain test cases * Apply AI for test data generation, edge case discovery, and exploratory testing * Establish practices for validating AI-generated tests and avoiding false confidence * Guide engineers in using AI to improve test coverage and quality signals **Test Automation** * Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks (e.g. Cypress, Playwright, Selenium) * Build and manage test suites across: * UI / end-to-end * API / integration * Regression * Ensure tests are reliable, fast, and meaningful (avoid brittle or low-value tests) **Quality Execution** * Lead regression, integration, performance, and smoke testing * Identify defects, edge cases, and system weaknesses proactively * Work closely with developers to resolve issues efficiently **Integration with Delivery** * Integrate quality checks into CI/CD pipelines * Define and enforce quality gates for releases * Contribute to improving deployment confidence and release stability **Collaboration & Standards** * Work with product and UX to define clear, testable acceptance criteria * Promote shared ownership of quality across engineering teams * Maintain clear, useful documentation for QA processes and test coverage **Leadership & Team Development** * Mentor junior QA engineers as the team grows * Help build a scalable QA function aligned with engineering practices **Required Experience and Qualifications** **Experience** * 5+ years of experience in QA or software testing * Proven experience designing and implementing QA strategies * Experience working in production environments with real users **AI & Workflow Fluency (Important)** * Experience using AI-assisted tools for testing or development workflows * Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs * Understanding of risks such as false positives, incomplete coverage, and over-reliance on automation **Technical Skills** * Strong experience with: * Test automation frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or similar) * Writing and maintaining test suites * API testing and integration validation * Familiarity with: * CI/CD pipelines and quality gates * Performance and load testing concepts **Engineering Approach** * Focus on meaningful coverage rather than volume of tests * Ability to identify systemic risks, not just individual bugs * Pragmatic approach to balancing speed and quality **Communication** * Strong collaboration skills with developers, product, and leadership * Ability to clearly communicate risks, trade-offs, and quality decisions **Education** * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience (preferred) **Additional Requirements** **Job Type** * Full-time **Location** * Dubai Motor City (on-site, no remote/hybrid) **Relocation/Commute** * Must be able to reliably commute or relocate **Language** * Fluent English required **Notes on Role Expectations** This is a **high-impact, system ownership role**.
