Egis’ long history of providing comprehensive engineering, consulting, and project management services makes it a trusted partner for regional governments, investors, and developers. **Job Description** The QA/QC Inspector – Material Control is responsible for verifying that all **materials used in highway construction and maintenance** comply with Ashghal specifications, approved technical submittals, and latest versions of Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and Qatar Traffic Control Manual (QTCM). This role ensures material quality, documentation control, site compliance, and assists in implementing QA/QC procedures throughout project execution. * **Material Control & Inspection** * Inspect delivered materials (e.g., asphalt, aggregates, cement, steel reinforcement) to ensure conformity with approved materials lists, test certificates, and project specifications. * Verify material test reports and witness sampling/testing (field and laboratory) as required by the Inspection & Test Plan (ITP). * Monitor proper storage, handling, labeling, and traceability of materials on site to prevent damage, contamination, or misuse. * Tag, segregate, or reject non-conforming materials and ensure their removal from the work area. * Coordinate material inspections with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and third-party laboratories. * **Quality Assurance & Control Activities** * Conduct routine inspections of works to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and approved submittals. * Ensure that contractor’s QA/QC procedures, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and Quality Control Plans (QCPs) are implemented at site level. * Document and report inspection results, observations, discrepancies, and corrective actions in daily/weekly QA/QC reports. * Assist in issuing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective and preventive actions. * Participate in internal QA/QC audits and support third-party/client audits as required. * **Documentation and Compliance** * Maintain accurate records of all inspections, material certificates, test reports, NCRs, and quality documentation. * Ensure documentation meets Ashghal, project and contract requirements, and is ready for submission or auditing. * Check that contractors comply with approved Quality Control Plans (QCPs) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for materials. * Assist in preparing material submittal reviews and comments to the QA/QC Engineer or Project Management. * Ensure all material submittals comply with approved project specifications, standards, and contractual requirements. * **Coordination & Communication** * Liaise with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and testing labs for scheduling inspections and testing. * Communicate quality issues and material concerns promptly to project QA/QC teams and site management. * Support training of site personnel on material quality requirements and QA/QC practices. **Qualifications** **Education** * Typically 5+ years of QA/QC inspection experience on civil infrastructure projects, including highways/roads. * Experience with material inspection, testing procedures, and documentation on large-scale infrastructure projects in Qatar or GCC preferred. * Prior exposure to Ashghal or major road/highway contracts is beneficial. Key Skills and Knowledge : * Strong attention to detail and ability to identify non-conforming materials or workmanship. * Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams. * Proficient in report writing, documentation control, and basic QA/QC tools. * Familiarity with QA/QC software tools and MS Office applications. **Additional Information**
