Responsibilities The main purpose of the Senior Quantity Surveyor job is to execute the department's standard operating procedures in addition to his standard quantity surveying tasks, in an efficient and timely manner and as per Company’s guidelines * Contribute to the enhancing of quantity surveying tools, systems, and data at the Company * Identify missing or duplicate items in the client-provided BOQ, and brings them to the attention of superiors * Support in the preparation of accurate and detailed bill of quantities especially for re-measured contracts * In the context of preparing detailed quantity takeoffs, ensures complete and comprehensive “Packages” prior to submission to Procurement * Support in the timely updates of the bill of quantities based on construction developments, including VOs, completion of detailed design, etc., and passes on the updated quantities to all concerned functions (Primarily Operations, Procurement, and Cost Control) * Lead the coordination with Operations in the substantiation and documentation of variation orders and claims * Act as a Project Commercial Manager and provide active support to the Project Manager * Review and validate payments and variations with Client / Engineer, Subcontractors / Suppliers in coordination with contracts team * Lead the preparation of all payment applications and variations under the Main Contract and for Subcontractors / Suppliers * Lead the gathering and verification of all data and documents on site and from other departments for main contract payments, variations and financial part of claims with clients * Lead the preparation of the commercial part of claims and reports * Study the Subcontractors / Suppliers' payments and variations' status * Monitor and update the Commercial Manager on the validity of guarantees and insurances under the main contract and the subcontract * Follow up payment application under the main contractor * Ensure the Company recovered all its dues from the Subcontractor * Support in managing timely and accurate certification of Subcontractor’s invoices (Progress Certificates) * Support in managing for the final accounts under the Main Contract and Subcontract / Supply Agreements * Update the Commercial Manager on the progress of work * Research software packages and other tools that can improve the efficiency and accuracy of quantity surveying * Assist the Commercial Manager in other commercial tasks and assignments as may be assigned to him from time to time Qualifications * Proficiency in written and spoken English (Arabic is a plus) * Bachelor in Engineering or Quantity Surveying * Minimum 10 years of experience as Quantity Surveyor in a comparable sized corporation and handled a project size SAR 200 Million and above * Proficient in MS Office Suites * Familiarity with KSA Government Tenders and Procurement Law * Experience in the Middle East is a strong plus * Good knowledge of international principles of measurement * Good knowledge of variations and claims mechanisms / practical cases * Demonstrate a strong knowledge in contacts management & commercial management * Demonstrate a strong practical knowledge in QA/QC Management, Project and Contractual Management * Excellent communication , people management, and problem solving skills * Show a strong practical knowledge in financial analysis and reporting * Highly responsible and reliable with exceptional attention to detail Additional Info: This is a Full-time job offering standard benefits such as paid annual leave, public holidays, living allowances, healthcare coverage, and end of service benefits.
