Safety Officer

**Job Overview** Responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at the project site, aligned with SEC safety standards and best practices. **Key Responsibilities** * Implement and monitor HSE policies and procedures * Ensure compliance with SEC 5-Star Safety System * Conduct site safety inspections and audits * Identify hazards and perform risk assessments * Ensure proper use of PPE * Conduct toolbox talks and safety training * Investigate incidents and prepare reports * Ensure compliance with permit-to-work system (PTW) * Monitor subcontractors’ safety performance **Required Skills and Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil preferred) * Minimum 10 years of experience in construction safety * Experience in 33 kV substations projects * NEBOSH IGC certification (mandatory) * Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and SEC standards * Familiar with SLPP system * Good communication and leadership skills **Additional Skills** * Experience with contractor safety management and permit-to-work systems * Familiarity with environmental management and emergency response coordination * First aid, fire warden, or other practical safety certifications are desirable * Prior experience in substation, utilities, or critical infrastructure projects is an advantage **Behavioral Competencies** * Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality documentation and follow-through * Collaborative and customer-focused with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams * Proactive problem-solver with sound judgment and decision-making skills * Resilient and adaptable, able to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments **Location & Reporting** Position reports to the HSE Manager and will work closely with project managers, site engineers, operations, and contractors.
