Senior Accountant

***Position: Senior Accountant*** Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee core accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support strategic financial decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in general accounting, UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance, and working knowledge of receivables and credit control processes. ***Key Responsibilities:*** Financial Reporting & Accounting: * Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and company policies. * Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions. * Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries. Accounts Receivable & Payable Oversight: * Supervise accounts receivable and payable functions, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and payments. * Monitor ageing reports and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely recovery of outstanding balances. * Ensure proper revenue recognition and expense recording. VAT & Corporate Tax Compliance: * Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, including preparation and filing of VAT returns. * Support Corporate Tax implementation, including preparation of tax computations, maintaining tax records, and assisting in filings. * Liaise with tax consultants and ensure adherence to Federal Tax Authority (FTA) requirements. Cash Flow & Financial Analysis: * Monitor cash flow, prepare forecasts, and provide insights to support financial planning. * Analyze financial performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions. * Prepare management reports to support decision-making. Audit & Regulatory Compliance: * Maintain proper documentation for audits and regulatory requirements. * Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes. Internal Controls & Process Improvement: * Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets. * Identify areas for process improvement and enhance efficiency in accounting operations. Team Collaboration: * Work closely with finance, operations, and management teams on financial matters. * Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff when required. ***Qualifications:*** Experience: 6 – 7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the UAE. Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (ACCA/CPA/CA is an advantage). UAE Experience: Mandatory, with strong knowledge of VAT and Corporate Tax. Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills. Quick Books is preferred.
