Senior Accountant

Oversees daily accounting operations, reconciles complex accounts, manages month-end closing, and ensures compliance with financial regulations (GAAP/IFRS). They analyze financial data, prepare reports for management, and often supervise junior staff. Key duties include tax preparation, audit support, and improving internal financial controls. Workable +5**Core Responsibilities** * **Financial Reporting & Closing:** Reconcile accounts, manage the general ledger, and execute month-end/year-end closing procedures. * **Analysis & Budgeting:** Analyze financial information to summarize status, prepare budgets, and forecast financial trends. * **Compliance & Audit:** Ensure compliance with regulations, prepare tax returns, and act as the liaison for internal/external audits. * **Leadership:** Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior accountants or bookkeepers. * **Process Improvement:** Review and recommend improvements to accounting systems and procedures to enhance efficiency. * **ERP Implementation and data Migration**: Microsoft 365 Business Central **Required Skills and Qualifications** * **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or Master's degree is highly preferred. * **Experience:** Proven experience (usually 3-5+ years) as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Supervisor, or similar role in food distribution companies and startups * **Technical Skills:** Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas) and familiarity with ERP software (e.g., 365 Business Central , Navision). * **Analytical Skills:** Strong ability to interpret complex financial data and identify discrepancies. * **Communication:** Excellent verbal and written skills for reporting to management and stakeholders.
