**Posting Date:** 9 Apr 2026 **Requisition ID:** 3645 **Location:** HQ - Abu Dhabi **Posting Status:** Active Recruitment Job Purpose The Senior Electrical Engineer serves as a senior technical authority responsible for delivering advanced electrical engineering solutions across complex projects, ensuring full compliance with applicable national and international standards and regulatory requirements. This role requires extensive expertise in electrical system design, design review, construction supervision, inspection, testing, and commissioning. The Engineer will lead and oversee the planning, design, and execution of electrical systems and infrastructure, ensuring safe, reliable, and high-quality installations throughout all project phases, with a strong emphasis on technical compliance, quality assurance, and operational safety. Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability * Lead, review, and validate detailed electrical designs, drawings, calculations, and technical specifications for infrastructure and building projects. * Provide technical oversight during project execution to ensure adherence to approved designs, specifications, schedules, and safety requirements. * Managing local Authorities Having Jurisdiction "AHJ" and utility authority requirements, with full responsibility for the end to end NOC process, encompassing design submissions, technical coordination, authority comments resolution, and final approvals for electrical designs, shop drawings, load schedules, and as built records. * Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure materials, equipment, and installations meet project and code requirements. * Validate electrical design documents, including Basis of Design (BoD), calculations, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), layouts, schematics, and specifications at all project stages. * Ensure compliance with applicable local and international standards and codes (IEC, BS, NEC/NFPA, IEEE, IES, and Authority Having Jurisdiction requirements). * Approve, review and coordination of Load Demand Notice (LDN) documentation with the utility provider as part of the electrical design approval and NOC process. * Plan, develop and support, the Barakah Electrical Information System (BNPP ELIS) in coordination with Geographic Information System (GIS) and other related Enterprise Department, to allow a real time monitoring and management of all current and future electrical infrastructure outside the protected area. * Study the Power Allocation Request Program (PARP) requests, load analysis, site walkdown, modifications in consultation with the Electrical Engineering Team, the Engineering Department - COO and any other related Teams. Forwarding the PARP Form and all necessary documentation to ENEC DCRM for further processing. * Updating the PARP database with the characteristics of the PARP request (Reserved Load) after the PARP approval and with the characteristics of the actual load connected (Allocated Load) or disconnected (Returned Load) * Approve the design of substations, transformers, switchgear, panel boards, and associated cable routing in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards. * Review Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) power distribution systems, including substations, transformers, switchgear, panel boards, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, generators, and emergency power supplies. * Validate load calculations, diversity factors, short circuit levels, voltage drop, harmonic studies, and protection coordination. * Review electrical systems interfacing with Fire Alarm Systems (FAS), smoke management systems, emergency lighting, exit signage, and fire pumps. * Ensure emergency power availability, redundancy, and fail safe operation in accordance with life safety requirements. * Support supplier technical reviews, qualification activities, and management of outsourced electrical design work Responsibilities & Accountabilities (contd.) * Ensure all electrical engineering activities comply with applicable national codes, international standards, project specifications, and regulatory authority requirements. * Implement and enforce comprehensive quality control and quality assurance procedures for electrical works. * Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and technical reviews, including verification of cable installations, equipment ratings, grounding systems, and testing records, to ensure compliance and quality. * Review non-conformance reports (NCRs), propose corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution. * Ensure electrical designs meet energy efficiency and sustainability targets, including power quality, power factor correction, and optimized system performance. Professional Certifications Additional certifications in project management, electrical safety, or specialized electrical disciplines. CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit), electrical design, and, depending on the industry, software such as Navisworks or Amtech.
