Job Title: Senior Resident Engineer – Roads & Infrastructure Location: Mafraq, Abu Dhabi (Site-Based) Working Hours: 48 hours/week, 6 days/week Job Purpose The Senior Resident Engineer will lead and oversee all site supervision activities for a major roads and infrastructure project. The role is responsible for ensuring that construction works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and local authority regulations, while maintaining project timelines and safety compliance. Key Responsibilities ️ Project Supervision & Execution * Lead the overall **site supervision team** including Resident Engineers, Inspectors, and support staff * Ensure construction activities comply with **approved designs, drawings, and technical specifications** * Monitor contractor’s progress and ensure adherence to project schedule * Review and approve **method statements, shop drawings, and material submittals** Quality Assurance & Compliance * Ensure implementation of **QA/QC procedures** and project quality plans * Monitor and enforce compliance with **UAE authority standards** (e.g., ADQCC, DMT, ADM, etc.) * Conduct regular site inspections and audits * Identify non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented Stakeholder Coordination * Act as the primary point of contact between **client, contractor, and authorities** * Attend and lead **progress meetings, technical reviews, and coordination meetings** * Liaise with government authorities for approvals, inspections, and clearances Planning & Reporting * Review and validate contractor’s **baseline and recovery schedules** * Track project progress and prepare **weekly and monthly reports** * Identify potential delays and implement mitigation strategies * ️ Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) * Ensure compliance with **HSE policies and procedures** * Promote a strong safety culture across the project site * Monitor contractor’s safety performance and incident reporting Contract Administration * Review contractor’s **interim payment applications** * Evaluate variations, claims, and change orders * Ensure contract compliance and proper documentation Qualifications & Experience * Bachelor’s Degree in **Civil Engineering** (Master’s preferred) * Minimum **20+ years of total experience** * At least **10+ years in roads & infrastructure supervision projects** * Proven experience working with **consultancy firms in UAE** * Strong knowledge of **UAE authority standards and regulations** Skills & Competencies * Strong leadership and team management skills * Excellent communication and stakeholder management * Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines * Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability * Proficiency in project reporting and documentation Preferred Requirements * Experience in **Abu Dhabi projects** (Mafraq or similar) * Familiarity with **AD authorities and approval processes** * Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Chartered Engineer) are an advantage Reporting Line Reports to: Project Director / Project Manager Work Environment * Site-based role in **Mafraq, Abu Dhabi** * Dynamic infrastructure project environment requiring close coordination with multiple stakeholders For additional information please contact Gelson Dsouza, email [email protected].
