Workshop Engineer

The Workshop Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance, repair, and servicing activities of plant and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience in managing workshop operations for construction or heavy equipment. **Key Responsibilities:** * Manage the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring all plant and machinery are maintained, serviced, and repaired efficiently. * Plan and schedule preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime. * Supervise, train, and lead the workshop team including technicians, mechanics, and support staff. * Coordinate with plant hire coordinators and project teams to prioritize equipment servicing and readiness. * Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality procedures, and regulatory requirements. * Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, repairs, spare parts inventory, and equipment performance. * Monitor workshop expenses, budget, and resources to ensure cost-effective operations. * Evaluate and recommend procurement of tools, equipment, and spare parts required for the workshop. **Qualifications & Experience:** * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. * Proven experience in workshop management, plant maintenance, or heavy equipment servicing. * Strong knowledge of plant machinery, hydraulics, engines, and electrical systems. * Experience in managing a team of technicians and workshop staff. * Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. * Proficient in MS Office and maintenance management software.
