Accountant

**Job Title: Accountant – Commodity TradingJob Summary** We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support financial operations in a fast-paced commodity trading environment. The role involves trade accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and ensuring accurate recording of trading positions, inventory, and profit and loss in compliance with IFRS and internal controls. **Key Responsibilities** **Trading & Financial Accounting** * Record and maintain accounting entries for commodity trades (physical and/or derivatives) * Track trade lifecycle from contract initiation to settlement * Prepare daily/weekly/monthly trading P&L reports * Perform mark-to-market (MTM) valuations for open positions **Reconciliations & Controls** * Reconcile trading contracts with confirmations, invoices, and settlements * Reconcile inventory, warehouse stock, and logistics movements * Reconcile bank accounts, broker statements, and counterparty balances * Monitor discrepancies and resolve them with traders/operations **Reporting & Analysis** * Prepare management reports on trading performance and exposure * Assist in cash flow forecasting and working capital monitoring * Support budgeting and profitability analysis by commodity or desk **Compliance & Audit** * Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies * Support external and internal audits * Assist with VAT/tax filings and regulatory reporting (where applicable) **Systems & Process** * Maintain accurate records in ERP/trading systems * Improve accounting and reporting processes for trading activities * Work closely with trading, operations, and risk teams **Required Skills & Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field * 2–5 years of accounting experience (commodity trading or similar preferred) * Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting * Experience with trade accounting or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or commodity trading platforms) * Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis) * Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure Work Location: In person
