Accountant

**Job Type:** Full-time **Industry:** Carpentry, Joinery, Interior Fit-Out / Contracting About the Role We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented **Accountant** to join our company. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in handling company accounts, bookkeeping, VAT, invoices, payments, payroll, financial reports, and day-to-day accounting operations. The candidate must be organized, accurate, and able to manage financial records properly while supporting management with clear financial information. Key Responsibilities * Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, petty cash, invoicing, receipts, and payments. * Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, journals, and reconciliations. * Handle supplier invoices, client invoices, payment follow-ups, and statement of accounts. * Prepare quotations, invoices, purchase orders, delivery notes, and payment vouchers when required. * Track project-related expenses, supplier payments, client payments, and outstanding balances. * Manage VAT records, VAT filing support, and ensure compliance with UAE VAT requirements. * Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, customer accounts, and internal financial records. * Prepare monthly financial reports, cash flow reports, expense reports, profit and loss summaries, and management reports. * Assist with payroll preparation, employee salary records, leave salary, gratuity, and other employee-related payments. * Maintain proper documentation for audits, tax records, contracts, LPOs, invoices, receipts, and payment confirmations. * Coordinate with suppliers, clients, banks, auditors, and internal departments. * Monitor company expenses and highlight cost-saving opportunities or financial risks to management. * Ensure all accounting entries are accurate, updated, and properly recorded in the accounting system. * Support management with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning when required. Requirements * Proven experience as an **Accountant**, preferably in contracting, carpentry, joinery, interior fit-out, construction, or a related industry. * Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and UAE VAT. * Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliation, and financial statements. * Ability to prepare and manage invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, purchase orders, and financial documentation. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and records. * Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software. * Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounting tasks. * Strong organizational and time management skills. * Good communication skills for dealing with clients, suppliers, auditors, and internal teams. * Must be trustworthy, confidential, and professional in handling financial information. * Knowledge of UAE labour-related financial calculations such as gratuity, leave salary, and payroll is an advantage. Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. * Professional accounting certification is an advantage. * UAE/GCC accounting experience is preferred. * Experience with accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Focus, or similar systems is preferred.
