**Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities**
As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the finance team by helping deliver accurate financial reporting, maintaining financial controls and supporting day‑to‑day financial operations across one or more regions. This role offers broad exposure to core accounting processes within a professional membership organisation and supports both transactional and reporting activity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Assist with month‑end close activities, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation for key accounts.
- Support analysis of income streams such as membership subscriptions, training programmes and events.
- Assist with transactional finance activities including AP, AR and intercompany processing when required.
- Support audit preparation, compliance requirements and process improvements within finance operations.
**About You**
You are an organised and detail‑focused finance professional at an early stage in your career. You are keen to develop your accounting knowledge, work collaboratively and take increasing ownership of responsibilities.
Skills & Experience:
- AAT qualified or actively studying ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Practical experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within a membership or professional services environment.
- Good understanding of core accounting principles and month‑end processes.
- Strong Excel skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work proactively.
- Good communication skills with a collaborative, team‑focused approach.
