Civil Engineer

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced **Civil Engineer** with a strong background in managing and coordinating subcontractor activities across construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for site execution, subcontractor management, quality control, project coordination, and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities: Site Execution & Construction Management * Supervise and monitor daily construction activities at site. * Ensure works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements. * Coordinate civil, architectural, structural, and finishing activities. * Monitor project progress and ensure achievement of project milestones. * Identify and resolve site-related technical issues. Subcontractor Management * Coordinate and manage multiple subcontractors on site. * Monitor subcontractor productivity, manpower allocation, and work quality. * Ensure subcontractors comply with project specifications, safety regulations, and contractual obligations. * Review subcontractor work progress and certify completed works. * Conduct regular coordination meetings with subcontractors. * Resolve site conflicts and interface issues between different subcontractors. * Track subcontractor performance and report progress to project management. Project Coordination * Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams. * Attend project progress meetings and technical discussions. * Coordinate with procurement and planning departments to ensure uninterrupted project execution. * Ensure timely submission of RFIs, inspections, and technical documents. Quantity Verification & Commercial Support * Verify subcontractor measurements and work quantities. * Assist Quantity Surveyors in preparing progress valuations and variation claims. * Review subcontractor invoices and progress claims. * Monitor material usage and control project costs. Quality Assurance & Control * Ensure all construction activities comply with project specifications and approved standards. * Conduct site inspections and quality checks. * Coordinate consultant inspections and approvals. * Monitor snagging and de-snagging activities until successful project handover. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) * Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and UAE regulations. * Conduct site safety inspections and toolbox talks. * Ensure subcontractors follow approved safety procedures. * Report and address safety concerns immediately. Documentation & Reporting * Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports. * Maintain site records, inspection reports, and project documentation. * Monitor project schedules and report delays or risks. * Assist in preparation of as-built drawings and handover documentation. Project Handover * Coordinate testing, inspections, and project handover activities. * Ensure all subcontractor works are completed and closed out before handover. * Support final project completion and client satisfaction. RequirementsEducation * Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Experience * Minimum 5–8 years of UAE/GCC experience in construction projects. * Mandatory experience managing subcontractors on building, infrastructure, industrial, commercial, or residential projects. * Strong experience in site execution and project coordination. Technical Skills * Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. * Knowledge of concrete, blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, finishing, and structural works. * Experience in subcontractor management and coordination. * Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and project documentation. * Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management software. Preferred Qualifications * UAE Driving License. * Experience with main contractors or large subcontracting organizations. * Knowledge of UAE construction regulations and authority requirements.
