**ob Description – Cluster Chief Engineer (Hotel Industry)** **Job Title:** Cluster Chief Engineer **Department:** Engineering **Reports To:** Cluster General Manager / Area General Manager **Job Summary** The Cluster Chief Engineer is responsible for leading the engineering and maintenance operations across multiple hotel properties. This role ensures all hotel facilities, plant equipment, and guest areas are maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency while supporting an exceptional guest experience and ensuring compliance with brand standards and local regulations. **Key Responsibilities** * Oversee the engineering and maintenance operations of multiple hotel properties. * Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and MEP systems are maintained in excellent condition. * Develop and implement preventive maintenance (PPM) programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, kitchen and laundry equipment, elevators, generators, swimming pools, and fire & life safety systems. * Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, municipality requirements, civil defense regulations, environmental standards, and hotel brand standards. * Prepare and manage the engineering budget, monitor expenses, and control maintenance costs. * Plan and execute renovation projects, capital expenditure (CAPEX), and asset replacement programs. * Lead, coach, and develop engineering teams across all cluster properties. * Monitor utility consumption and implement energy conservation and sustainability initiatives. * Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and government authorities for maintenance, inspections, and statutory certifications. * Conduct regular property inspections and ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues. * Ensure all maintenance requests are completed efficiently to maximize guest satisfaction. * Maintain accurate engineering records, equipment logs, permits, and compliance documentation. * Support hotel operations during emergencies and ensure business continuity. * Collaborate with Operations, Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage, and other departments to ensure smooth hotel operations. * Ensure all engineering team members comply with health, safety, and hotel operational procedures. **Qualifications** * Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline. * Professional engineering certifications are an advantage. **Experience Essential** * Minimum **8–10 years** of engineering experience in the **hotel or hospitality industry**. * At least **3–5 years** in a Chief Engineer or Cluster Engineering leadership role. * Experience managing engineering operations for **multiple hotels** or a large hotel property. Experience Preferred Familiarity with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS), Building Management Systems (BMS), and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). **Knowledge & Skills** * Strong knowledge of hotel engineering operations, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire & life safety systems, kitchen and laundry equipment, elevators, and swimming pool systems. * Thorough understanding of UAE hospitality regulations and statutory compliance. * Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills. * Strong budgeting, cost control, and project management abilities. * Ability to analyze technical issues and implement effective solutions. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering maintenance software. * Strong focus on guest satisfaction, preventive maintenance, and operational excellence. **Core Competencies** * Leadership & Team Development * Preventive Maintenance Management * Budgeting & Cost Control * Project & CAPEX Management * Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance * Energy & Sustainability Management * Problem Solving & Decision Making * Guest Service Excellence * Vendor & Contractor Management * Strategic Planning and Operational Excellence Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month Work Location: In person
