**Contracts Engineer** Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates Job Summary The Contracts Engineer supports the administration and management of contractual matters on the project. The role involves preparing contractual correspondence, managing variations and claims, monitoring compliance with contract requirements, and supporting the commercial and project teams in protecting the company's contractual interests. Key Responsibilities Contract Administration * Assist in administering the main contract and subcontract agreements. * Review contract documents and identify contractual obligations and risks. * Maintain contract registers and contractual records. * Ensure proper documentation and filing of contractual correspondence. Claims and Variations * Assist in preparing Extension of Time (EOT) submissions. * Prepare and evaluate variation orders and change requests. * Draft contractual notices and correspondence. * Monitor project events that may give rise to claims. Documentation and Reporting * Maintain records of project instructions, delays, disruptions, and changes. * Prepare contractual reports for management review. * Track contractual milestones and obligations. * Support preparation of final accounts and project close-out documentation. Subcontract Management * Assist in drafting and reviewing subcontract agreements. * Monitor subcontractor compliance with contractual obligations. * Evaluate subcontractor claims and variation submissions. Commercial Support * Coordinate with Quantity Surveyors, Planning Engineers, and Project Managers. * Assist in risk assessments and commercial evaluations. * Support cost control and contract compliance activities. Stakeholder Coordination * Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal departments. * Participate in contractual and commercial meetings. * Follow up on contractual issues and action items. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline. Experience * Minimum 5–8 years of experience in contract administration within the construction industry. * Mandatory UAE experience with a Main Contractor. * Experience on high-rise building projects in the UAE. * Familiarity with FIDIC Contracts and UAE construction regulations. Skills and Competencies * Good understanding of FIDIC Contract Conditions. * Contract administration and documentation management. * Claims and variation preparation. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management software. * Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Requirements for Both Positions * Experience on projects exceeding AED 300 million in value. * Experience dealing with UAE consultants, developers, and authorities. * Membership of professional bodies such as Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, or Project Management Institute is an advantage. * Strong understanding of UAE construction law and contractual procedures. * Available to work in Dubai, UAE.
