projects in Qatar, ensuring compliance with FIDIC, NEC, or other applicable contract forms. The role supports the organization in protecting its contractual rights, maximizing cost recovery, and minimizing financial and legal exposure throughout the project lifecycle.
**Job Description**
**Contract Administration & Management**
* Review, draft, and administer contracts including main contracts, subcontracts, and supplier agreements.
* Interpret contract terms and conditions and advise project teams on contractual obligations and rights.
* Monitor contract compliance and ensure all parties fulfill their contractual obligations.
* Maintain a comprehensive contract register and document management system.
* Ensure all contractual correspondence is properly issued, recorded, and responded to within stipulated timeframes.
**Claims & Variations**
* Identify, prepare, and submit claims for extensions of time (EOT), loss and expense, and variations in accordance with contract conditions.
* Evaluate and respond to claims submitted by subcontractors and suppliers.
* Maintain contemporaneous records to substantiate claims and defend against counterclaims.
* Negotiate and settle claims and disputes in a timely and professional manner.
**Commercial & Financial**
* Prepare and certify interim payment applications, final accounts, and subcontractor payment certificates.
* Track project budgets, cost reports, and cashflow forecasts.
* Conduct cost analysis and value engineering exercises to optimize project margins.
* Assist in the preparation of tender documents, BOQs, and commercial proposals.
**Risk & Dispute Management**
* Identify and assess contractual and commercial risks at project inception and throughout execution.
* Support dispute resolution processes including adjudication, arbitration, or expert determination.
* Liaise with legal counsel on complex contractual or dispute matters.
**Stakeholder & Coordination**
* Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, quantity surveyors, finance, and legal teams.
* Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors on all contractual and commercial matters.
* Attend progress meetings, site meetings, and contract review meetings as required.
* Ensure compliance with Qatar regulatory requirements.
**Job Requirements**
**Experiences and Preferred Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or equivalent.
* Minimum 5–8 years of experience in contracts engineering/administration, preferably in Qatar or GCC.
* Strong knowledge of FIDIC (Red, Yellow, Silver Book), NEC, or other standard forms of contract.
* Experience in infrastructure, building, or oil & gas projects in Qatar preferred.
* Familiarity with Qatar construction law, regulatory authorities.
* UPDA/MME registration is an advantage.
* Membership of RICS, CIOB, or similar professional body is preferred.
* Proficiency in MS Office, Primavera P6, and contract management software.
* Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage).
* Must be locally available in Qatar with valid transferable visa.
* Valid Qatar Driving License preferred.
