Data QA Engineer

We are a leading software test automation company and, together with our highly talented and certified engineering team, we are on the verge of significant growth. **About the job:** We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Data QA Engineer with a passion for data quality, automation, and problem-solving. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills in Python and SQL with a structured testing mindset and an understanding of modern data pipelines and ETL processes. **Job details:** * Mostly remote, * Full-time employment contract, * Active Visa required. **What you will do:** * Validate ETL Processes: Ensure data is accurately transformed and loaded from various sources into our data warehouse. * Automate Data Testing: Write and maintain automated test suites using Pytest and Great Expectations. * Query Databases: Write complex SQL queries to validate data integrity and perform gap analysis. * Monitor Data Quality: Identify, document, and track data anomalies and bugs through to resolution. * Collaborate: Work closely with Data Engineers and Analysts to understand requirements and define test cases. **What you bring with you:** * Python: Proficiency in Python, specifically for automation and scripting. * Testing Frameworks: Hands-on experience (or academic projects) using Pytest. * Data Validation: Familiarity with Great Expectations for defining data contracts and profiling. * SQL Mastery: Ability to write JOINs, subqueries, and aggregations to audit large datasets. * ETL Knowledge: Understanding of data pipeline concepts (Extract, Transform, Load). * Analytical Mindset: A "detective" approach to finding data discrepancies and performance bottlenecks. * Excellent English skills (spoken and written) **Nice to have:** * Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins). * Knowledge of data warehousing tools like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift. * ISTQB certification, * Previous consulting or client-facing experience.
