Design & Estimation Engineer – Water & Wastewater Treatment

**Location:** U.A.E **Department:** Engineering & Proposals **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Experience Level:** Mid-Senior **Travel:** Occasional travel across GCC required **Job Description** We are seeking an experienced Process & Proposal Engineer with a strong background in design, estimation, and proposal development for water and wastewater treatment systems (STP, ETP, WTP, RO, DM, UF). This role covers the full bid cycle—from technical design and value engineering to cost estimation, proposal submission, and execution support. **Key Responsibilities** * Prepare and submit techno-commercial proposals for water/wastewater treatment systems and mechanical packages, including BOQs, RFQs, compliance documents, and pricing. * Design and size treatment systems using MBBR, MBR, SBR, ASP technologies, in line with project specs and GCC regulatory standards. * Perform value engineering to reduce CAPEX while maintaining process integrity and performance. * Conduct detailed cost estimation post-design, covering process, mechanical, utility, and installation elements. * Develop and review P&IDs, GA drawings, foundation layouts, and SLDs, coordinating with civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams. * Select and specify pumps, blowers, aerators, mixers, agitators, and perform vendor technical evaluations. * Evaluate power requirements, support energy optimization, and troubleshoot process issues during plant upgrades or commissioning. * Lead technical discussions with clients, consultants, and internal teams from bid to handover. * Ensure all proposals are technically compliant, commercially competitive, and aligned with GCC project standards. * Support site teams and attend GCC site visits as required. **Qualifications & Experience** * Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering (Master’s preferred). * 5+ years of hands-on experience in proposal/design engineering for STP, ETP, WTP, RO, DM systems. * Strong knowledge of process design, equipment sizing, and treatment technologies. * Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and ideally, water treatment design tools. * Familiar with GCC codes, including ADM, DEWA, EPA, ISO, and other relevant standards. **Skills & Requirements** * Excellent spoken and written English. * Strong technical writing, document control, and reporting skills. * Able to work independently and cross-functionally in time-sensitive environments. * Valid UAE or GCC driving license preferred. * Willing to travel for client meetings, site inspections, and commissioning. * Knowledge of GCC tendering procedures is a plus. **What We Offer** * Competitive salary package * Exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects * Strong prospects for technical leadership and career growth * Collaborative, technically driven work culture Job Type: Full-time Pay: AED4,500.00 - AED8,500.00 per month Application Question(s): * Are you currently (at the time of application) located in the U.A.E? * How many years of work experience do you have with Wastewater Treatment Design? * Notice Period in Months (if employed, else type 0) * I confirm I have read and understood the job role.
