Electrical Design Engineer

**Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services / MEP** **Job Summary** We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Design Engineer with experience in building services and MEP consultancy projects in the UAE. The candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, and preparation of electrical systems for residential, commercial, mixed-use, and high-rise developments in accordance with UAE authority regulations and international standards. **Key Responsibilities** * Prepare electrical design calculations, layouts, and technical reports for building projects. * Design and coordinate: * Power distribution systems * Lighting systems * Emergency lighting systems * Small power systems * Earthing & lightning protection systems * ELV systems * Fire alarm systems * Load schedules and single line diagrams * Perform electrical load estimation and voltage drop calculations. * Coordinate with architectural, structural, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection teams. * Prepare authority submission drawings and documents. * Ensure compliance with UAE authority requirements such as: * Dubai Electricity and Water Authority * Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority * Civil Defense requirements * Review shop drawings, material submittals, and technical specifications. * Attend coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors. * Support project execution and site technical clarifications when required. **Requirements** * Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. * 3–8 years of experience in electrical design for building services / MEP projects. * UAE/GCC experience preferred. * Experience in residential towers, villas, commercial buildings, and mixed-use developments is an advantage. **Technical Skills** * Proficiency in: * AutoCAD * Revit MEP * Dialux / Dialux Evo * ETAP or equivalent software * Microsoft Office * Good understanding of: * UAE electrical regulations * IEC standards * NFPA standards * Energy efficiency requirements * Ability to prepare detailed design and authority submission packages Pay: AED11,000.00 - AED13,000.00 per month Application Question(s): \* What experience do you have with DEWA/SEWA/ADDC/Civil Defense submissions, and what challenges have you handled during approvals? * How do you perform load estimation, voltage drop, and short‑circuit calculations for a building project? * Describe a situation where you had to resolve a coordination conflict with HVAC, plumbing, or architectural teams. * Which software tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Dialux, ETAP) have you used extensively, and how did they improve your design output?
