Electrical Engineer

**Electrical Engineer – Construction (Power & Low Current Systems)** **Job Summary:** The Electrical Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all electrical works on construction projects, including power distribution and low current systems. The role ensures compliance with project specifications, authority regulations, quality standards, and timelines. **Key Responsibilities:1. Project Execution & Supervision** * Supervise electrical installation works on site (power and low current systems). * Ensure work is carried out as per approved shop drawings, specifications, and method statements. * Coordinate daily activities with foremen, technicians, and subcontractors. * Monitor progress and ensure timely completion of works. **2. Design Review & Coordination** * Review electrical drawings, load schedules, and single line diagrams (SLD). * Prepare and review shop drawings, as-built drawings, and material submittals. * Coordinate with other disciplines (HVAC, plumbing, civil, architectural). * Identify and resolve design clashes. **3. Installation Scope** * Oversee installation of: * Power systems (MDB, SMDB, DBs, cabling, containment, earthing, lighting) * Low current systems (fire alarm, data/telephone, CCTV, access control, PA/BGM) * Ensure proper cable routing, termination, labeling, and testing. **4. Testing & Commissioning** * Supervise testing activities (IR test, continuity, functional testing). * Coordinate with suppliers and commissioning teams. * Ensure systems are tested and handed over as per project requirements. **5. Quality Control** * Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with QA/QC standards. * Raise inspections (IRs) and close comments. * Ensure materials used are approved and meet specifications. **6. Authority Approvals & Compliance** * Ensure compliance with local authority requirements (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, Civil Defense). * Support in obtaining approvals, inspections, and clearances. **7. Documentation & Reporting** * Prepare daily/weekly progress reports. * Maintain records of work progress, inspections, and material usage. * Track project milestones and highlight delays or risks. **8. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)** * Ensure all works are carried out safely and in line with HSE policies. * Conduct toolbox talks and enforce PPE usage. * Identify and mitigate site risks. **Requirements:** * Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. * 1–3 years of experience in electrical construction projects (UAE/GCC preferred). * Strong knowledge of power distribution and low current systems. * Experience with shop drawings, material submittals, and site coordination. * Familiar with international standards (IEC, BS) and local authority regulations. * Good communication and leadership skills. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experience in high-rise, commercial, or industrial projects. * Knowledge of testing & commissioning procedures. * UAE driving license (optional). * Experience with project management tools/software (AutoCAD, MS Project, etc.).
