Job Description – Electrical Design Engineer (Consultant) **Position Title:** Electrical Design Engineer **Industry:** Engineering Consultancy / Construction Consultancy **Location:** UAE (Abu Dhabi & Dubai) **Experience Required:** 5–7 Years About the Role We are seeking an experienced **Electrical Design Engineer** with 5–7 years of UAE consultancy experience to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, and review of electrical systems for various building projects, ensuring compliance with Abu Dhabi and Dubai regulations, authority requirements, and international standards. Key Responsibilities * Design and prepare electrical systems for residential, commercial, institutional, and mixed-use developments. * Develop electrical design drawings, calculations, specifications, BOQs, and technical reports. * Design and coordinate: * Power Distribution Systems * Lighting Systems * Emergency Lighting Systems * Earthing & Lightning Protection Systems * Low Current (ELV) Systems * Fire Alarm Systems * Solar PV Systems (where applicable) * Perform load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, and fault level analysis. * Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, and other project stakeholders. * Prepare authority submission packages and obtain approvals from relevant authorities. * Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, and technical proposals. * Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction stages. * Participate in design coordination meetings and client presentations. * Ensure designs are delivered on schedule and comply with project requirements. * Apply value engineering solutions to optimize design efficiency and project costs. Requirements * Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. * 5–7 years of Electrical Design experience within an Engineering Consultancy in the UAE. * Strong knowledge of: * Abu Dhabi Building Code * Dubai Building Code * ADDC / AADC Requirements * DEWA Regulations * Abu Dhabi & Dubai Civil Defence Requirements * Municipality Regulations * Estidama Sustainability Requirements * IEC, BS, NFPA, IET Wiring Regulations, and other relevant international standards * Experience in authority approvals and submissions. * Proficiency in: * AutoCAD * Revit MEP * BIM Coordination * Dialux EVO * ETAP (preferred) * Electrical Design Software * Microsoft Office Suite * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication and coordination abilities. * UAE Driving License is preferred.
