**General Accountant / Accounts Department Lead** **Company:** Siddiq Gifts **Location:** Musaffah, Abu Dhabi **Job Type:** Full-Time **Salary:** AED 6,000 – 10,000 About the Role Siddiq Gifts, a rapidly growing retail company in the UAE, is seeking a highly experienced and proactive General Accountant to take full ownership of the company's accounting function. This role is ideal for a strong professional who can not only manage daily accounting operations but also establish, organize, and implement a complete accounting department structure, financial controls, procedures, and reporting systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating efficient accounting workflows, enforcing financial discipline, and ensuring the company operates according to best accounting practices and UAE regulations. Key Responsibilities * Design, implement, and manage the company's accounting systems, policies, and internal controls. * Establish accounting procedures, workflows, and reporting standards for the finance department. * Maintain accurate financial records, invoices, receipts, and daily transactions. * Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable. * Perform monthly bank reconciliations. * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets. * Handle VAT calculations, submissions, and ensure full tax compliance. * Process payroll and employee salary disbursements. * Monitor cash flow, budgets, expenses, and financial performance. * Develop financial reports and dashboards for management decision-making. * Coordinate with auditors and ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations and accounting standards. * Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to strengthen financial control and operational efficiency. Requirements * Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in the UAE (retail or trading sector preferred). * Proven experience setting up accounting systems, procedures, and internal controls. * Strong leadership mindset with the ability to take ownership and work independently. * Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Tally, SAP, or similar ERP systems. * Strong understanding of bookkeeping, VAT, financial reporting, and UAE compliance requirements. * Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. * High attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability. * Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
