**Job Description**
Graduates joining the business in a Graduate role and engaging in all elements of the ADVANCE program. The program is designed to introduce and build essential business and personal skills, helping to enhance the transition from student to professional.
Graduates are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within the field they are joining at Graduate entry level.
The ADVANCE program lasts approx. 24 months but the successful completion of the program is only to be used as an indicator for strong performance in line with other indicators (strong or above performance rating etc.)
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Engineer to join our Roads & Highways Design team at Abu Dhabi office. This role provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to develop their technical skills and gain hands-on experience in the planning and design of transportation infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced engineers, supporting the delivery of high-quality, innovative, and sustainable design solutions.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Build and develop analytical and engineering design skills through practical project experience.
* Conduct engineering design tasks under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
* Prepare designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under supervision.
* Assist in the design and development of roads and highway projects, including alignments, junctions, and cross-sections.
* Collect and analyze data to support engineering decisions under supervision.
* Utilize engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks) as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
* Support coordination with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., drainage, traffic, utilities, structures).
* Participate in project meetings and contribute to design reviews.
* Perform assigned work in accordance with agreed budgets and schedules under supervision.
* Ensure compliance with company quality standards and project requirements.
* Support site visits and data collection activities as required.
* Understanding of BIM and digital engineering workflows.
**Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
* Basic understanding of road design principles and transportation engineering.
* Familiarity with design standards (e.g., ADQCC, DMT, AASHTO, DMRB, or other local authority standards).
* Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Good communication and teamwork abilities.
* Interest in pursuing professional accreditation (e.g., ICE or equivalent).
* Candidates must be recent graduates, having graduated within the last 24 months or no later than September 2024, to be eligible for AECOM's Graduate Program.
* Successful applicants must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.2 and above.
* If you hold a Master’s Degree, it should have started within 12 months of completing your Bachelor’s Degree to ensure continuous education and meet program requirements.
* Candidates with more than 1 year of postgraduate work experience are not eligible for the program and are encouraged to apply for our professional-level roles instead.
