IT Engineer-Civil Construction

IT Engineer – Construction Industry Job Summary We are seeking a skilled IT Engineer to support and manage technology infrastructure across our construction operations. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between field operations and enterprise IT systems, ensuring seamless connectivity, data management, and digital tools across office and site environments. Key Responsibilities * Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network infrastructure across head office and construction sites * Manage project management platforms (e.g., Procore, Autodesk BIM 360, Primavera P6, Quick book) and ensure system uptime * Provide technical support to site engineers, project managers, and office staff * Oversee LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless network setup at active construction sites * Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols, firewalls, and data backup systems * Coordinate with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) for procurement, asset, and resource tracking * Support CAD/BIM software environments and manage related licenses * Manage CCTV, access control, and site surveillance technology * Ensure IT assets are inventoried, maintained, and replaced as needed * Liaise with vendors, ISPs, and third-party service providers Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field * 5 years of UAE IT support or systems administration experience, preferably in construction or engineering * Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 * Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VPN, Wi-Fi deployment, structured cabling * Familiarity with construction software (Procore, AutoCAD, BIM tools) is a strong advantage * CompTIA A+, Network+, or CCNA certification preferred * Ability to work in both office and active construction site environments * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure Preferred Skills * Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Quick book) * Knowledge of IoT devices used in smart construction (sensors, drones, wearables) * Familiarity with ERP systems in a construction context Work Environment This role requires regular travel between the head office and construction sites.
