Jewelry Accountant
Roles & Responsibilities
* Manage and reconcile an intricate inventory of precious Gold and Diamonds, ensuring accurate valuation and tracking to prevent discrepancies.
* Prepare detailed financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets, specifically tailored to the Jewellery industry.
* Handle sales and purchase transactions, including complex international transactions, accounting for duties, taxes, and currency fluctuations.
* Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, invoices, and transactions
* Track and value inventory (gold, diamonds, finished Jewellery)
* Monitor cost of goods sold (COGS) and pricing margins
* Handle accounts payable and receivable
* Reconcile bank statements and internal accounts
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
* Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements
* Assist with audits and implement internal controls to prevent loss or fraud
* Monitor metal rates (e.g., gold price fluctuations) and adjust valuations accordingly
* Work closely with sales and inventory teams to track stock movement
* Manage Attendance and operational expenses.
Desired Candidate Profile
* A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential.
* Possession of an MCOM or similar professional certification is highly desirable.
* Minimum of 3 years of proven accounting experience, with a preference for experience within the jewellery field.
* Demonstrated expertise in inventory management, particularly in tracking Gold and Diamonds.
