Position Summary The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance department in maintaining accurate financial records, processing daily accounting transactions, preparing reports, assisting with reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and UAE financial regulations. The role requires attention to detail, confidentiality, accuracy, and the ability to work within deadlines. Key Responsibilities1. Daily Accounting Operations * Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system * Maintain proper accounting entries and documentation * Assist in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes * Prepare journal vouchers and ledger entries * Update and maintain accounting records accurately 2. Invoice & Payment Management * Verify supplier invoices and supporting documents * Process vendor payments and payment requests * Follow up on outstanding receivables and customer payments * Maintain payment schedules and due dates 3. Petty Cash Management * Monitor petty cash expenses and balances * Maintain petty cash records and supporting bills * Prepare petty cash reimbursement reports 4. Bank & Cash Reconciliation * Assist in monthly bank reconciliations * Verify bank transactions and account balances * Support cash flow monitoring activities 5. Documentation & Filing * Maintain organized financial records and filing systems * Ensure all invoices, receipts, and vouchers are properly archived * Prepare documents for audits and management review 6. Financial Reporting Support * Assist in preparing: * Monthly financial reports * Expense reports * VAT-related documents * Profit & loss summaries * Support the finance team during audits and closing activities 7. VAT & Compliance Support * Assist in VAT documentation and filing preparation * Ensure compliance with UAE financial procedures and company policies * Coordinate with external auditors when required Additional Responsibilities * Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments regarding payments and documentation * Support inventory and stock reconciliation when required * Assist management with finance-related administrative tasks * Perform any other duties assigned by management Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field * Basic accounting knowledge and understanding of financial principles * Knowledge of UAE accounting practices is an advantage Required Skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software * Attention to detail and accuracy * Good numerical and analytical skills * Time management and organizational ability * Professional communication skills * Ability to maintain confidentiality Preferred Experience * 0–2 years of accounting experience * Experience in UAE accounting environment preferred * Familiarity with VAT procedures is an advantage Working Conditions * Full-time position * Office-based role * May require coordination with multiple departments and outlets Application Question(s): * How many years of accounting experience do you have in UAE? * Are you an immediate joiner?
