Material Engineer (RTA Projects) – Job Description **Job Title:** Material Engineer **Location:** Dubai, UAE **Experience:** 5–7 Years **Certification:** GCL Certified (Mandatory) **Industry:** Roads, Infrastructure & Transportation Projects (RTA) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced **Material Engineer** with 5–7 years of experience in road and infrastructure projects, preferably with **RTA (Roads and Transport Authority) projects in Dubai**. The ideal candidate must hold a **GCL Certification** and possess strong knowledge of construction materials, quality control procedures, and RTA specifications. Key Responsibilities * Review and approve material submittals in accordance with project specifications and RTA standards. * Conduct inspections and testing of construction materials including asphalt, concrete, aggregates, soil, and other related materials. * Ensure all materials comply with project requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulations. * Coordinate with contractors, consultants, laboratories, and project teams regarding material approvals and testing requirements. * Monitor laboratory and field testing activities and review test reports. * Evaluate sources of materials and recommend suitable materials for project use. * Maintain quality records, material approval logs, and testing documentation. * Investigate non-conforming materials and recommend corrective actions. * Ensure compliance with RTA, Dubai Municipality, and project quality requirements. * Provide technical support related to material engineering issues throughout project execution. Requirements * Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline. * **5–7 years of relevant experience** in roads, highways, and infrastructure projects. * **Mandatory experience working on RTA projects in the UAE.** * **GCL Certification is mandatory.** * Strong knowledge of RTA specifications, ASTM, AASHTO, BS, and relevant international standards. * Experience in asphalt, concrete, soil, aggregate, and pavement material testing. * Familiarity with quality management systems and material approval procedures. * Excellent report-writing and communication skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering documentation software. Preferred Qualifications * Experience working with engineering consultants or major infrastructure contractors. * Additional certifications related to materials testing and quality assurance. * UAE driving license is an advantage.
