Mechanical Draughtsman

**The Mechanical Draftsman** will be responsible for producing accurate and coordinated MEP drawings, ensuring compliance with design specifications, authority regulations, and project standards. This role requires expertise in CAD software and a strong understanding of mechanical systems in complex, large-scale building developments. **Key Responsibilities:** * Prepare detailed HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting shop drawings and coordination layouts for high-rise buildings. * Develop 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP. * Translate design sketches and engineering notes into comprehensive and accurate drawings. * Revise and update drawings based on engineer or consultant feedback and design changes. * Coordinate mechanical drawings with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines to identify and resolve clashes. * Ensure all drawings comply with UAE authority requirements (e.g., DEWA, DM, DCD, ADDC, etc.) and international standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA). * Assist in preparing drawings for authority submissions and ensure timely revisions based on comments received. * Maintain a well-organized drawing register and documentation system. * Support project teams by preparing as-built drawings, redline markups, and site modification details. * Work closely with site engineers and project managers to understand site conditions and incorporate them into updated drawings. **Qualifications, Experience and Skills:** * Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or related field. * Minimum 5 years of drafting experience, with at least 3 years in the UAE on high-rise residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects. * Proficient in AutoCAD, with experience in Revit MEP, Navisworks, or other BIM tools being a strong advantage. * Sound knowledge of mechanical systems used in high-rise construction. * Familiar with local UAE building codes and authority submission requirements. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOQs, and specifications. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all drafting work. * Good communication and team coordination skills. **Preferred Experience:** * Experience working with leading MEP contractors or consultants in the UAE/GCC. * Familiarity with BIM coordination processes. * Worked on fast-track design & build or turnkey projects.
