Their role bridges technical design with site execution to meet budget and quality standards. **Key Job Roles and Responsibilities:** * **Design and Planning:** Designing HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), refrigeration, and plumbing systems (chillers, boilers, pumping, piping). * **Site Coordination & Supervision:** Supervising installation of mechanical systems, coordinating with other disciplines (architects, electrical engineers), and managing technical site teams. * **Quality Assurance & Testing:** Conducting site testing, commissioning systems, and validating equipment integrity to meet project requirements. * **Project Management & Budgeting:** Developing construction methodologies, scheduling tasks, maintaining project schedules, and managing costs. * **Documentation & Compliance:** Ensuring adherence to safety protocols, building codes, and providing as-built drawings and operation manuals upon project completion. * **Sustainability & Efficiency:** Implementing energy-efficient building systems, particularly in regions requiring strict environmental regulations.
