Job Description – Mechanical Design Engineer (Consultant) **Position Title:** Mechanical Design Engineer **Industry:** Engineering Consultancy / Construction Consultancy **Experience Required:** 5–7 Years About the Role We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented **Mechanical Design Engineer** with 5–7 years of UAE consultancy experience to join our growing engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, and supervision support of mechanical systems for a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with Abu Dhabi and Dubai regulations, international standards, and client requirements. Key Responsibilities * Design and prepare HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting systems for building projects. * Perform engineering calculations, load calculations, equipment sizing, and system selection. * Prepare design drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical reports. * Develop mechanical designs in compliance with UAE codes, authority requirements, and international standards. * Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders. * Prepare authority submission packages and obtain approvals from relevant authorities. * Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, and technical proposals. * Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction stages. * Participate in design coordination meetings and client presentations. * Ensure project deliverables are completed within budget and project timelines. * Apply value engineering principles to optimize system performance and project costs. Requirements * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. * 5–7 years of Mechanical Design experience within an Engineering Consultancy in the UAE. * Strong knowledge of: * Abu Dhabi Building Code * Dubai Building Code * ADDC / AADC Requirements * DEWA Regulations * Abu Dhabi & Dubai Civil Defence Requirements * Municipality Regulations * Estidama Sustainability Requirements * ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IPC, BS, and relevant international standards * Proficiency in: * AutoCAD * Revit MEP * BIM Coordination * HAP Software * Duct Sizer & Pipe Sizer Software * Microsoft Office Suite * Strong technical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication and coordination abilities. * UAE Driving License is an advantage.
