MEP Draftsman

**Job Title: MEP Draftsman (Electrical & Plumbing)** **Industry:** Construction / Contracting **Experience Level:** Mid to Senior Level **Employment Type:** Full-time **Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled **MEP Draftsman** with proven expertise in both **electrical and plumbing systems** to join our contracting team in the **UAE**. The ideal candidate must have **hands-on experience with MEP drafting in construction projects**, a deep understanding of **UAE regulations**, and the ability to coordinate with site and engineering teams to produce detailed and accurate shop drawings. **Key Responsibilities:** * Prepare detailed **MEP shop drawings** (Electrical & Plumbing) based on project specifications and design consultant drawings. * Modify and revise drawings as per engineer/site instructions or client requirements. * Ensure all drawings are in compliance with **local authority regulations** (e.g., DEWA, SEWA, ADDC, DCD, etc.). * Coordinate MEP services with architectural and structural drawings to avoid clashes. * Assist in the preparation of **As-Built drawings**. * Maintain accurate records of all drawings and revisions. * Liaise with site engineers and supervisors to ensure smooth execution of the drawings. * Review design layouts to find and resolve problems involving compatibility with basic design concepts. * Use software such as **AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), and Navisworks** to develop coordinated MEP models. * Attend coordination meetings when required to resolve technical drawing issues. **Qualifications & Skills:** * Diploma or Degree in **Mechanical/Electrical Engineering** or related technical field. * **5+ years of UAE experience** in a similar role within the **construction/contracting sector**. * Strong proficiency in **AutoCAD**, with knowledge of **Revit MEP** considered an advantage. * In-depth knowledge of **electrical and plumbing systems** used in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. * Familiar with **UAE local authority standards and submission processes**. * Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. * Excellent communication and coordination skills. * Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. **Preferred:** * UAE driving license. * Experience in **HVAC drafting** (optional but a plus). * Knowledge of **3D coordination (BIM)** workflows.
