تفاصيل الوظيفة
An **MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Site Engineer** is responsible for overseeing the physical installation, coordination, and testing of essential building services on a construction site. Unlike design-focused engineers, their role is heavily operational, ensuring that mechanical (HVAC), electrical (power/lighting), and plumbing systems are executed according to blueprints and safety codes.
**Core Technical Responsibilities**
· **Installation Oversight**: Directly supervising the installation of HVAC units, firefighting systems, electrical wiring, and plumbing networks to ensure they match approved shop drawings.
· **Drawings & Specifications Review**: Interpreting complex engineering designs and calculations for site workers and ensuring all installations comply with project specifications.
· **Quality Control (QC)**: Conducting regular site inspections and walkthroughs to verify work quality and identify any non-conformance with standards.
· **Testing & Commissioning**: Witnessing and documenting critical system tests, such as pressure testing for pipes, duct leakage tests, and electrical circuit testing, before project handover.
**Coordination & Project Management**
· **Multidisciplinary Coordination**: Resolving "clashes" between MEP services and the building's structural or architectural elements (e.g., ensuring a pipe doesn't block an air duct).
· **Subcontractor Management**: Facilitating problem-solving between various subcontractors and managing their daily work schedules to meet project timelines.
· **Material Procurement**: Monitoring the delivery, storage, and usage of MEP materials on-site to prevent delays or waste.
· **Documentation**: Maintaining daily progress reports (DPRs), keeping accurate "as-built" drawings, and compiling Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals for the client.
**Safety & Compliance**
· **Safety Enforcement**: Promoting and enforcing site-specific safety protocols, such as **Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)** for electrical work and confined space entry permits.
· **Regulatory Compliance**: Ensuring all installations meet local regulations, such as those from **DEWA** or **Civil Defence** in regions like the UAE.
· **Common Daily Tasks**
1. **Morning Meetings**: Aligning with project managers and site teams on the day's goals.
2. **Technical Clarifications**: Providing on-the-spot solutions for design modifications needed due to site constraints.
3. **Progress Reporting**: Tracking metrics like quantities installed and labor productivity to report back to project directors
