Job Summary
The MEP Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works for construction projects. The role ensures that all MEP activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements. The MEP Project Engineer coordinates with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve technical issues, monitor progress, and ensure successful project delivery within budget and timeline objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Execution & Coordination
* Supervise and coordinate MEP installation works at the project site.
* Ensure execution of MEP works according to approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
* Coordinate with civil, architectural, and structural teams to avoid clashes and ensure smooth project execution.
* Monitor subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely completion of works.
* Review shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documents prior to implementation.
* Attend project coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Planning & Progress Monitoring
* Prepare and monitor MEP work schedules in coordination with the project planning team.
* Track daily and weekly site progress against planned targets.
* Identify delays or technical issues and propose corrective actions or recovery plans.
* Coordinate material delivery schedules to avoid project delays.
* Assist in resource planning, manpower allocation, and productivity monitoring.
Technical & Engineering Support
* Resolve technical and engineering issues related to MEP systems installation.
* Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, project specifications, and international standards.
* Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities for MEP systems.
* Coordinate inspections and approvals with consultants and relevant authorities.
* Verify as-built drawings and project documentation accuracy.
Quality & Safety
* Ensure all MEP works comply with quality standards and project specifications.
* Conduct regular inspections to maintain workmanship quality.
* Ensure adherence to HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices at site.
* Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site audits.
* Report non-conformities and support implementation of corrective actions.
Documentation & Reporting
* Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
* Maintain records of inspections, testing, approvals, RFIs, and site instructions.
* Assist in preparation of project close-out documents and final handover packages.
* Monitor quantities and support project cost control activities.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
* Professional certifications in MEP or project management are an advantage.
Experience
* Minimum 5–8 years of experience in MEP construction projects.
* Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects preferred.
* Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, and ELV systems.
Technical Skills
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
* Knowledge of project management and construction methodologies.
* Familiarity with BIM/Revit and planning software is an advantage.
* Good understanding of local building codes and international standards.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Working Conditions
* Site-based role with regular coordination meetings and inspections.
* May require extended working hours depending on project schedules and deadlines.
