MEP Project Engineer – Interior Fit-Out

**Job Description: MEP Project Engineer – Interior Fit-Out (Commercial Projects)** **Position** **Project Engineer – Interior Fit-Out** **Location** UAE **Employment Type** Full-Time **Job Summary** We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced **Project Engineer** to oversee the execution of commercial interior fit-out projects from inception to handover. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in **interior fit-out and MEP coordination**, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site activities, coordinating with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, while ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and local authority regulations. **Key Responsibilities** **Project Execution** * Plan, coordinate, and supervise all phases of commercial interior fit-out projects. * Ensure project execution is in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements. * Monitor project schedules and ensure timely completion of milestones. * Coordinate daily site activities and resolve technical issues efficiently. * Review project drawings and identify potential design or execution conflicts. **Site Management** * Supervise all interior fit-out works, including: * Drywall and gypsum partitions * Ceiling systems * Flooring works * Joinery installation * Glass and aluminium works * Painting and decorative finishes * Furniture installation * Ensure all works are executed according to quality standards and approved shop drawings. * Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and workmanship. **MEP Coordination** * Coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, HVAC, and Low Current installations with interior fit-out activities. * Review MEP shop drawings and ensure proper integration with architectural and interior finishes. * Coordinate with MEP subcontractors to avoid clashes and delays. * Ensure testing, commissioning, and final inspections are completed before project handover. **Planning & Reporting** * Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports. * Track project timelines and proactively identify risks affecting project delivery. * Attend client, consultant, and coordination meetings. * Maintain accurate site documentation, including RFIs, inspections, material approvals, and variation orders. **Quality & HSE** * Ensure compliance with project quality standards and QA/QC procedures. * Enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations on site. * Conduct quality inspections and ensure snag-free project delivery. * Coordinate final inspections and project handover documentation. **Commercial & Procurement Support** * Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely material delivery. * Verify material quantities and site requirements. * Review subcontractor progress and certify completed works. * Assist in evaluating variation orders and additional work requests. **Qualifications** * Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. * PMP certification is an advantage. * UAE Driving License is preferred. **Experience** * 5–8 years of experience managing commercial interior fit-out projects. * Minimum 3 years of UAE/GCC experience. * Strong experience delivering office fit-outs, retail outlets, hospitality, healthcare, and other commercial projects. * Proven experience coordinating MEP works within interior fit-out environments. **Technical Skills** * Strong understanding of commercial interior fit-out construction methodologies. * Excellent knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and Low Current. * Experience reviewing shop drawings, technical submittals, and material approvals. * Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit is an advantage. * Familiarity with MS Project and/or Primavera P6. * Understanding of UAE authority requirements, including Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defence, and other relevant authorities. * Ability to interpret construction drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications. **Core Competencies** * Excellent project planning and organizational skills. * Strong leadership and team management abilities. * Effective communication and stakeholder management. * Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Attention to detail with a focus on quality and timely delivery. * Strong coordination and negotiation skills.
