Job Summary
The MEP Quantity Surveyor (Post-Contract) is responsible for managing all commercial and contractual aspects related to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works during the execution phase of high-rise building projects. The role includes quantity verification, subcontractor management, variation evaluation, progress valuation, cost control, and preparation of payment certificates while ensuring compliance with project specifications, contractual requirements, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and administer MEP subcontract agreements and contract documents.
* Prepare and verify monthly progress valuations and payment certificates for subcontractors.
* Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow related to MEP works.
* Evaluate and process variation orders, claims, and additional works.
* Conduct quantity take-offs and measurement verification from drawings and site progress.
* Coordinate with project managers, engineers, planning, procurement, and finance departments regarding commercial matters.
* Prepare cost reports, commercial reports, and forecasting for management review.
* Assess and negotiate subcontractor quotations and rates.
* Track material consumption and reconcile quantities against approved budgets.
* Support procurement team in finalizing MEP subcontract packages and material comparisons.
* Ensure all commercial records, site instructions, and contractual correspondences are properly maintained.
* Participate in project meetings related to commercial and contractual issues.
* Assist in final account settlement and project close-out documentation.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, project specifications, and contractual obligations.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
* Minimum 5–10 years of experience in MEP quantity surveying for high-rise building projects.
* Strong knowledge of MEP systems, construction methodology, and post-contract commercial management.
* Experience in handling variations, claims, subcontractor payments, and cost reporting.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, ERP systems, and quantity surveying software.
* Good understanding of FIDIC and standard construction contracts.
* Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple project priorities.
Preferred Skills
* Knowledge of UAE construction standards and authority regulations.
* Experience with high-rise residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
* Strong coordination and reporting abilities.
* Attention to detail and commercial awareness.
